For some people, the period after 50 means starting a second career or a new entrepreneurial dream. For others, this phase is mostly about preparing for a well-earned retirement.

In both cases, a strong body and a sharp, vital mindset can make every transition lighter and more enjoyable.

The Transition to Retirement Is Also a Physical Transition

When you stop working or cut back, the daily structure that your job used to set automatically suddenly disappears.

I see in my surroundings that people who fill in this structure themselves, with set times for exercise, physical goals, and weekly social plans, get through that transition much more smoothly. Those who let things drift can lose their steady rhythm and energy more quickly. Having control over your own day is an important factor here.

Purpose Is Often Found in Small Things

At the word “purpose,” we quickly think of grand gestures or a completely new goal in life. In practice, real fulfillment often lies in the small, daily things:
